    "text": "פרשה ה׳ א׳: ויהי ביום השלישי וגו׳, אמר ר׳ לוי כיון שהגיעה לצלמים נסתלקה ממנה שכינה, אמרה אלי אלי למה עזבתני (תהלים כ\"ב ב׳). —ויהי כראות המלך את אסתר, אמר ר׳ יוחנן שלשה מלאכי השרת נזדמנו לה באותה שעה, אחד שהגביה צוארה ואחד שמשך עליה חוט של חסד ואחד שמתח את השרביט (מגילה ט״ו). —ויבא המלך והמן, תנו רבנן מה ראתה אסתר שזימנה להמן ר׳ אליעזר אומר פחים טמנה ללכדו שנאמר יהי שלחנם לפניהם לפח ולשלומים למוקש, ר׳ יהושע אומר מבית אביה למדה שנאמר אם רעב שונאך האכילהו לחם כי גחלים אתה חותה על ראשו וה׳ ישלם לך (משלי כ׳׳ה כ״א) אל תקרי ישלם לך אלא ישלימנו לך. רבה בר אבוה אשכחיה לאליהו אמר לו מה ראתה אסתר שזימנה את המן? אמר ליה כדי שיתיאשו ישראל ממנה ולא יאמרו אחות יש לנו בבית המלך שתליץ בעדנו ותצילנו ולא יבקשו רחמים מהשם יתעלה, כי אמרה כשיראו ישראל שזימנתיו לסעודה שלי יאמרו זאת היא שאנו בוטחים בה בצרותינו והיא מכבדת אויבינו, אין טוב לנו להשען עליה אלא לשוב בתשובה שלימה לפני הקב״ה, אולי יצילנו ויושיענו למען שמו. ועוד אמרה אסתר בדוחק נפשה וזימנה את המן למשתה אולי יקנא בו המלך ויהרגני ויהרוג אותו וינצלו ישראל מהצרה הזאת (שם).",
